For this student project, we were tasked with either taking or finding a reference photo and using what we learned from our color studies lesson to transform and redesign our chosen photo. In this case, the assignment required us to use Monochromatic, Split Complementary, Complementary, and Tetrad colors. While also using different tints, shades, and tones to get a variety of colors. 
Monochromatic: Colors on the color wheel that are made up of a single hue. That consist of different shades, tones, and tints  
Split Complementary: take two colors on the color wheel that are the direct opposite of one another. and then split one of them into two adjacent colors. 
Complementary: pairs of colors that contrast with each other more than any other color. 
Tetrad:  these are 4 equally spaced colors that are around the color wheel.
